Clusters of white flowerheads bloom all summer beginning in June. It does best in prairie to savanna situations in almost any well draining soil. A fantastic pollinator plant as its nectar rich flowers attracts a broad array of insects. The genus name comes from Greek pyknos meaning dense and anthos meaning flower for its densely packed flowers. Sun
